Plan Your Visit

Enjoy…
a drive through Hot Springs State Park. See the Bison roam as they did centuries ago, unique formations created through time by the hot mineral water. Enjoy a picnic in the park, a walk along the river or just savor the beauty of the park. Your kids can enjoy the playground while you watch for the luscious green grassy areas.

Visit…
the most impressive Petroglyphs in Wyoming.  The Legend Rock Petroglyphs are the work of prehistoric cultural groups spanning from 500 AD to the 19th Century. There are more than 283 pictures with recognizable thunderbirds and elk and unusual-looking figures with horned headdresses. To make a trip to the Legend Rock, you can obtain a map and key at the State Bathhouse.

Encounter…
the prehistoric past at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center and Dig Sites. This 16,000 sq ft complex includes a world class museum, a complete preparation laboratory and gift shop. See life size dinosaur mounts, dioramas and interpretive displays. The dig site tours allow visitors to walk the same ground as the ancient dinosaurs. Special dig programs allow participants to join in the actual excavation in the quarries.

Discover…
the Best Outdoor Recreation Town of Wyoming (as selected by Sports Afield in 1998). Sports enthusiasts will find elk, deer, antelope, moose, big horn sheep, black bear, mountain lion, small game, game birds and blue ribbon trout fishing. Explore the area on horseback or raft the Big Horn River with its Class III & IV white water rapids, or enjoy Boysen State Park and Reservoir for a calmer more relaxing day.
